ENDEAVOUR ENERGY UPDATE FOR HAWKESBURY
I have just received an update from the diligent team at Endeavour Energy about homes and businesses that were impacted from the wild weather that occurred on Wednesday evening and Friday.
More than 90,000 homes and businesses around Sydney and Coastal areas were impacted with 56,000 hit on Wednesday (15 Jan) and 34,000 customers affected from the Friday storm (17 Jan).
Whilst parts of Hawkesbury have been impacted, spare a thought for those living in the Port Stephens area which was impacted so badly it has been declared a disaster area.
I have been told that Box Hill residents now have power.
Endeavour Energy pushed hard to restore the power today and I am very grateful for that.
If there is anyone in Box Hill who is without power now, please let me know.
There were 1,000 electical hazards that stripped away power across all storm impacted locations - mostly from trees that fell over mains power lines or power poles that collapsed.
Endeavour Energy has tackled and cleared many of the hazards and there are around 270 danger areas left to rectify.
Of the 90,000 properties that lost power, there are now around 2,000 properties still needing to be connected.
Hawkesbury properties still without power are located in East Kurrajong, Glenorie, Ebenezer, Kurrajong Heights, Sackville North and Pitt Town.
Please know that Endeavour Energy is determined to restore power to those homes and businesses as soon as practical.
To report fallen powerlines call Endeavour Energy 24/7 on
131 003.

POWER UPDATE – ENDEAVOUR ENERGY
Endeavour Energy crews have continued efforts to restore power to customers following Wednesday night’s severe storm. Currently, 3,400 customers* currently remain without power affected by 70 fault sites* predominantly across the Kenthurst, Colo Heights, Glenorie, Cattai and Kurrajong areas.
Crews are expected to continue to make good progress again today to fix most of these repairs with some complex repairs to carry into Saturday.
Endeavour Energy have welcomed additional crews from Evo Energy to support South Coast and Southern Highlands crews who will help restore power as fast as possible for their customers.
Endeavour Energy is thankful to their customers for their understanding and patience and want to assure them that they are working as safely and as fast as possible to get power back on.

MASS EXODUS OF NSW PSYCHIATRISTS TO CRIPPLE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
The NSW Mental Health System is approaching chaos, with mass resignations of psychiatrists taking effect on 21 January 2025. This will impact the mental health care, assessment and treatment of people reaching out for this vital service at hospitals throughout New South Wales.
More than 200 of the state’s 260 staff specialist psychiatrists have filed their resignations.
For 15 months psychiatrists have been at the negotiating table with Labor as they seek a 25% pay increase.
Labor has failed to find an acceptable position and instead are employing ‘locums’ (casual contractors).
Locums are paid up to $3,050 daily, plus travel expenses, accommodation and recruitment costs which NSW taxpayers are stumping up the funds for and that’s just not sustainable.
This daily rate is around three times the rate of a psychiatrist in NSW Health.
University students will be impacted by these resignations too, as they need face to face training in psychiatric wards and if there are no professional psychiatrists available, how are they supposed to learn?
Psychiatrists in Queensland and Victoria are paid 30% more than those in NSW, so attracting new recruits to NSW is challenging.
About a third of the public positions are vacant in NSW.

Comment on Facebook MASS EXODUS OF NSW ...
This will have a major impact on Emergency Department workloads and wait times too - the Minns government has had weeks of notice but has failed to act to resolve this situation
Nurses are the same not recognised and pay is poor in NSW
Surely this is a legacy of neglect from the previous decade of LNP government? No?
Why??
Thank you for meeting to discuss this Robyn Preston MP and for your advocacy and support
This situation is deeply alarming—not only for patients and their families, but also for the paramedics, ED staff, and security personnel who face increased risks every day.
The IR strategy implemented by the Minns government is fundamentally flawed, failing to address the root of the problem and putting everyone involved in harm’s way.
It's unacceptable on every level and demands urgent reevaluation which looks unlikely as holidays are prioritised.
Thank you for acknowledging the crisis and asking the government to fix this mess. Both Chris Minns and Rose Jackson are enjoying holidays while this fire burns in NSW. Tells you how much they care about the people of NSW. OUR COMMUNITY DESERVES BETTER! Ryan Park MP Mark Butler MP Anthony Albanese Peter Dutton NSW Liberal Party NSW Labor
It's not just the psychiatrists. Medical staff like interns, residents and registrars are also way behind other states. Not to mention the nurses and midwives! NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association This government's inconsistent approach to public service wage negotiations is a joke!
Government negotiated with the Psychiatrists for 15 months and shamelessly played politics. Everyday public Psychiatrists tried their utmost best for severly mentally ill patients. I sincerely hope your voice becoming louder in the NSW parliament Robyn Preston MP Minister Rose Jackson Ryan Park MP hopefully get facts right to resolve this crisis. ❤️
Maybe if politicians listened more and had a comprehensive insight into these issues it wouldn’t become a crisis.
It’s not just Labour or Liberals it’s politicians who have no idea!
Many politicians in the job for a pat on the back!
Thanks Robyn, you listened and that’s what you get it!
I hope It’s not too late for the government to listen.
Absolute INSULT to the profession and the people who need help! And they pretend to care about mental health🤔
With the financial DISASTER Labour has caused in our country, I think the list of patients may be getting much much longer over the coming years with relationship breakdowns and financial stress. Not to mention the lost dream of the average young person being unable to even dream of buying their own house.
Sorry but I have totally lost all faith in both major parties with their ties to WEF, UN WEF. We have been SOLD OUT on all levels and been fed WOKE garbage and fake GREEN agendas while our country goes down the plug hole more and more in almost every important area!
What a JOKE!
The ANPA have written to Ryan Park MP Rose Jackson and Kate Washington MP expressing our concern at imminent significant risk of serious harm to children and adults alike if the NSW Mental Health system is allowed to collapse due to the situation.
You can read it here:
www.facebook.com/share/p/186T6Xzwa2/
This is nothing new Psychiatric services have been in decline for at least the past 30 years since they started closing Psychiatric hospitals and placing patients in the community
As the Shadow Minister for Mental Health are you saying that the NSW Liberal Party would, if in power, be meeting the claim?
The claim that is only necessary after over a decade of deliberate wage suppression and decimation of our public MH services from successive previous LNP governments?
Your boss, Mr Speakman, is on the record saying NSW Labor are only having all these issues with public sector workers because they lifted the public sector wage cap and has called various essential public sector workers “union thugs.”
Can the NSW Liberals now go on the record and confirm they will be part of solution, in the event we had a change of government??
Otherwise I am not sure exactly what the point of this post is.
