About Robyn Preston – Biography

I was born and raised in Western Sydney and grew up with two brothers. My Father died when I was young and my Mother raised us. Whilst we had humble beginnings, I was surrounded by unconditional love and values that shaped my direction, as I grew up.

As a mother of two children, I know first-hand the challenges faced by families in Hawkesbury, especially cost of living pressures on households, housing affordability, accessibility to public transport and dealing with traffic congestion, as we move in and outside of our local area.

With a career across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, as well as working in small business and the media, I have seen the real benefits of good government and the fall out of when leaders get it wrong.

My advocacy to find solutions to people’s problems or to make change when something is unjust, has been developed through my twelve years as an elected Councillor and Deputy Mayor in Local Government, through my volunteer work from the age of fourteen and as your elected State Member for Hawkesbury since 2019.

It is a privilege to represent you and one I do not take for granted.

That’s my job and you deserve nothing less. I will advocate on behalf of the Hawkesbury community to ensure you have a strong, local voice. I am also passionate about looking after our veterans, those in need of mental health support, advancing medical research and tackling Western Sydney concerns.

I know that sometimes the little issues in life, can grow into big problems, if you don’t deal with them soon enough.
